Here is a cool rib stitch beanie hand knit by me with beautiful blue, grey and neutral color tones accented with black stripes. It is called Agean Stripes. This beanie is knit with 100% super soft acrylic yarn. It is super comfortable to wear due to it’s design. It is far superior in comfort compared to the stiff and cheap “cut-n-sew” style beanies found elsewhere. It is machine washable and dryable however I always recommend gentle hand-washing in cool water with a mild laundry detergent, rinse well, extract excess water with a towel and lay flat to dry for longer wear and to keep your hat looking great. People always ask me how to take care of their hand knit hats and beanies. It really doesn’t take a lot of care actually. It’s a hat. It’s supposed to get worn out but if you follow the care instructions I give you then you will enjoy your beanie for a long time.

I’m not exactly sure of the history of this old thing but I’m almost quit certain that this was probably used as a school bus before long buses were made. My friend Talon called it the “old timey short bus”. This old thing is sitting out in the parking lot in front of Angel’s Flea Market in Opelika, AL which is one of my favorite flea markets to shop at. I took this picture with my T-Mobile MyTouch cellphone on Sunday, August 30th, 2009 @ 4:10 PM. My buddy Talon and I were meeting up to hang out for dinner. We ate at Golden Corral that afternoon. He had a big salad and I pigged out on a plate and a half full of roast beef, lima beans, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. Those onion rings were THE BOMB!!!!! Talon and I had been out late the night before sitting at a little redneck bar called the Cock & Bull with some of his old co-workers who I had never met before. We all sat there listening to some crappy band who I honestly have to say wasn’t bad but could have been a little better. Anyway I got off on a totally complete different subject with all that and I’m just babbling now. The white SUV in the picture belongs to my friend Talon. He was parked there waiting for me in the parking when I took the picture of this old bus. He told me to crop his car out of the picture when I posted this but if I did that then I wouldn’t have gotten to tell the story about how we hung out and had such a great time and then all you guys would have seen was a picture of that old ratty bus that’s just sitting there. On Thursday, August 20th, 2009 I was driving into downtown Opelika and saw this cool truck with big tires in front of me as we were stopped at the traffic light by Bubba’s Medicine Shop. Me being the redneck that I am and having a big adoration for cool trucks I just had to snap this picture with my cellphone. Click here to see a larger image of this photo at flickr.

Long Cane Park on West Point Lake, in beautiful West Point, Georgia has long been one of my favorite get away spots when I want to get out and enjoy some nice scenery. The sunsets there are always amazing. I will be posting a lot of spectacular sunset photos from this area throughout the future as the sunsets from this location are the subject of most of my digital photography. I call this photo “The Little Island”. This photo was taken while standing in the middle of the Long Bridge over Lake Harding in Beulah, Alabama. I should note that I used the original full size image from this photo to create the cool header image you see at the top of my site. There was a beautiful sunset going on and the water was almost very calm. As most always it was very peaceful out there as it usually is except for the occasional traffic crossing the bridge. Here is one of my womens skinny scarf done in a color pattern called Water Lilly. It has lots of pastel pinks, blues, and greens. It measures 70 inches long by 2 3/4 inches wide and is made with a soft acrylic yarn to make it easy to care for. You can toss it in the washer and lay flat to dry… but I always recommend hand washing these scarfs to preserve the fringe as a washing machine can unravel the yarn strands that make up the fringe. I think these little scarfs look amazing with hoodies and small jackets.

Here is one of my two yarn strand double knit skull caps done in green camouflage stripes. As always it is made with 100% super soft acrylic yarn so it is comfortable to wear. Dillon is the first design in my urban style hat collection. The stripe pattern is design 1. It is a bold white cap with black and old leaf colors along the bottom. This is hand knit by me using 100% soft acrylic yarn.

My double knit beanies come in some really cool color combinations. These 2 strand beanies are my favorite caps to knit. They take a little more work and require a little more yarn than my other knit beanies but the end results are quite spectacular. I feel like I am painting with yarn when I make these. I named this one Blake Tweed. This beanie is 100% original. You won’t find another cap like this one made by anyone else with the color combination I put into this anywhere else on this planet because I will never tell what yarns I combined to make it. It is made from 100% soft acrylic yarn. It is a bulky knit cap that is very comfortable to wear.
